Playwriting
Art Angel has been hosting a playwriting workshop every Monday afternoon since 2021.
This is a friendly and supportive space where we read scenes from great plays, watch extracts from shows and, most importantly, write. We often seek inspiration from a simple prompt: an image, a newspaper article, a local story, a song, or a few lines of pre-written dialogue.
All workshop exercises and designed to be clear and concise. They are an opportunity for participants to explore playwriting at their own pace, but with curiosity and playfulness. Absolutely no experience is necessary before joining the group.
Reading and hearing each other’s work in progress is usually the most fun part of each session.
Yes, it’s definitely made me more confident, I feel like I can say things I wouldn’t have said before. I felt like I was in a dark place when I came here, now I feel like I can do things and am trying hard to go to college.
