Photography
The photography groups meet in Art Angel every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 3 pm before heading out. Sometimes it’s a walk, sometimes it’s a bus ride, but the duration is always within two hours.
Our groups are inclusive and supportive and everyone is welcome, regardless of their ability to use a camera.
Each week a theme is proposed that explores different techniques and slowly builds the ability to observe. The social aspect and the benefits of being outdoors play a fundamental role in promoting and increasing psychophysical well-being.
Participants can bring their own camera or borrow one of our DSLRs. We also have a fully equipped darkroom and image editing software; guidance on how to use them can be provided upon request.
After so long of feeling distressed and let down, finally I have found some place that feels safe and feels like I am not invisible. Right from the first day everyone made me feel welcome not the lost person I was. The staff give you time, good chats and don’t try and tell you what to do or that you are no good. You come away feeling like you have did something positive that made you feel better. Even on bad days I come, I know I will be okay and can talk to someone. It has changed my life; I have taken up other things now and don’t feel so alone.
